My grandfather, Clarence C. Randall, was a founding member of Logan Golf and Country Club (LGCC) and served as President of the Board in …… My father, Clarence ‘Pete’ C. Randall, also served as President of the LGCC in 1956 and joined a group of his contemporaries to expand the course from 9 to 18 holes. His stories from that time are family legend. He was also a superb amateur, winning the Club Championship here many times, the first win in 1937. His last championship win was at the age of 73, at a club in Florida. A truly remarkable record. And so began a long relationship between my family and LGCC … and golf. There are now grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren of that original founding member who play with intensity, amateurs all. We play an annual Family Tournament, almost always here at LGCC, that began in 1961 and continues to this day.

LGCC is the spiritual home of golf in my family. I am so proud to maintain a membership here … it is an honor to do so. I love that when my family now returns to Logan from their many distant locations, I can take them out to play on this course that we all know and love so much. We invariably receive a warm welcome, and the staff in the shop always remember us. When we tee up on one, it’s like coming home for us. It’s that kind of place.
